With only three minutes on the clock Kian Sketchley had the first sight on goal, but sent his strike over the bar.
Then three minutes later Mansfield's Ryan Ingram broke and looked as though he would be clean through on goal but stood on the ball and allowed the Nottingham defence to get back goal side and the chance was gone.
On nine minutes Mansfield had a corner which they played out towards the edge of the box, Ingram again involved, but although his strike on goal was powerful it was straight at Samuel Stansfield in the Nottingham goal and he gathered comfortably.
Ingram was again put through on goal in the 11th minute, this time he got his shot away but Stansfield was equal to this making a point blank save.
It wasn't until the 14th minute that Nottingham had their first real chance, but Mitchell Taits strike across the goal went wide of the far post, and they had their second chance only two minutes later when Stephen Gbadeyan cut inside his defender but keeper Harrison Kissane saved his shot with his legs to keep the score at 0-0.
Mansfields Isaac Fisher then struck from 25 yards on 17 minutes with a speculative effort, but it was high and wide and didn't trouble Stansfield.
The game then settled down, both teams seeing lots of the ball but with no clear cut chances created. It wasn't until the 35th minute that the deadlock was broken. Sketchley struck with a left foot shot from just inside the area back across goal, it evaded a number of bodies and left Stansfield rooted as he appeared unsighted, 1-0 to Mansfield.
Mansfield then struck just before half-time, Ingram again through on goal, this time he was bought down in the box and match official Jack Warwick had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. As Stansfield dived to his left Lewis Godson struck the ball low to his right, 2-0 to Mansfield at half-time and very much on top.
The second half started evenly, eight minutes in and Ingram once again found himself in on goal but not for the first time Stansfield spread himself well to block the shot, however Stansfield could not repeat his heroics when three minutes later Sketchley was clean through on goal and he was clinical in his finish slotting the ball under the advancing keeper.
It was almost 4-0 moments later when Roseann Chaddha rattled the crossbar with a great strike from the edge of the area.
Nottingham almost found a way back into the game in the 22nd minute when Seke Spence got across his man and met a great cross from the right at the near post but his shot smashed against the post and Kissane was grateful to see the ball rebound into his arms.
However only a minute later Spence was involved again, this time bought down in the box, Declan Frater dispatching the penalty straight down the middle, 3-1.
Nottingham pushed to get back into the game, and Mansfield looked for a fourth goal to put the game beyond Nottingham, but there were no further clear cut chances, and Mansfield Town YFC were crowned The Nottinghamshire FA U15's Saturday Cup champions with a 3-1 victory, and Mansfields Isaac Fisher was named Player of the Match.
