London Marathon Preparation - Krysia's Journey

Updated: Sep 5, 2020

As we are still in lockdown and I haven't had the opportunity to photograph many sporting events throughout 2020, I thought it was time to get the camera out of the bag and photograph Krysia in her preparation towards the London Marathon.

Krysia has been following her training plan thoroughly for the event which was scheduled for April, but unfortunately had to be postponed until October this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The weather was dreadful, I got extremely wet, but, it felt amazing to see her train hard and get the results she wanted for the 10k.

A MESSAGE FROM KRYSIA!!

“Hello everyone!

In October, I take on my first ever marathon (26.2 miles)!

If the marathon was still scheduled for April, it would have been a close call as to whether or not I'd have been able to partake due to an 18 month reoccurring injury to my knee/hip. Being able to run this marathon means an awful lot to me, and is going to take a lot of courage, strength and careful training to get me across that finish line.

I am running on behalf of Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People which is the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people. They provide vital care and support to families impacted by life-limiting conditions. A place like rainbows helps so many children that have their life taken from them too soon and relies on fundraising to do so, especially with the coronavirus limiting so many of their fundraising events.

So ,please find it in your heart to donate and help these poorly children and support their families and hopefully that together we can bring more love, smiles and laughter regardless of the outcome! Please donate even if it is just £1 - every little helps! Thank you 🙂 and please feel free to share! xxxx”
